In collaboration with THAAP and the Documentary Association of Pakistan, we convened a special community gathering for the ‘Eqbal Ahmad 25 Years On Tribute Festival’ in Pakistan.

We conducted a wonderful panel including students and friends of Eqbal Ahmad, who spoke to his personal and political legacies. Alongside the panel we showed our Pakistan 2024 Film Collaboration with ‘All That Breathes’.

Nadia Jamil is an eminent actress, coach and nationally recognised activist and campaigner. She knew Eqbal and was his student,

Dr. Quratul Ain Bakhteari is a Pakistani activist, social entrepreneur and community organizer known for founding the Institute for Development Studies and Practices. With a passion for education and empowerment. She spearheaded the founding of 2200 schools for women in the communities of Balochistan, changing the lives of women and children. She has been recognised for her work and many achievements nationally and internationally - Quratulain was mentored and a friend of Eqbal’s

Yogesh Chandrani is an Assistant Professor of Asian Studies, Religion at Colorado College. He is a historical and political anthropologist of modern South Asia with particular interests in questions of religion and secularism, colonial modernity, nationalism, violence, memory and subjectivity. His education includes Ph.D., Columbia University, M.A., Columbia University and B.A., Hampshire College. Yogesh was a student of, assistant and friend of Eqbal. Prof Pervaiz Vandal is an architect and Educator, he has supported the project for approaching a decade with our film collaboration screenings held at his THAAP centre ( Trust History Art Architecture of Pakistan ) - he is deeply inspired by Eqbal
